We know first-hand the importance of providing high quality, affordable remanufactured tampers and track equipment to our clients
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rio Grande Pacific Corporation (RGPC), we know first-hand the importance of providing our customers high quality, affordable remanufactured tampers and track equipment.
A few years ago, RGPC purchased a remanufactured 6700 tamper from two different suppliers, only to be disappointed with the quality and performance of each machine. RGPC recognized a need in the marketplace for reliable, but affordable, like-new surfacing equipment, and in recognition of that need, Precision Railway Equipment Company was born.
With an executive team possessing more than 90 years of combined working experience, Rio Grande Pacific Corporation CEO, Richard Bertel, and Precision Railway Equipment Company vice president, Harry Smith, set up a facility in a 40,000 square foot building in Independence, Kansas to begin remanufacturing and restoring Harsco 6700 tampers for the railroad industry.
All machines remanufactured by Precision Railway Equipment feature the latest technology available and high-quality parts, including but not limited to :
- Harsco Jupiter II Operating System
- Tier III Cummins Engine Option Available
- All major components purchased from OEM, Harsco Rail
- Same technology, productivity, reliability, and warranty as a new machine
